Wednesday Soccer Skill Clinics with Play Soccer

Wayland Youth Soccer is pleased to continue its series of soccer skill clinics for Grade 3 intramural, U10, and U11 players at the Claypit Hill School.

They will be held four consecutive Wednesdays (9/19, 9/26, 10/3 and 10/10) from 2:45 to 4:15. These clinics will be conducted by professional coaches from Play Soccer.

 To Register

There is no cost for these clinics, but we are asking you to pre-register via email. This way we can inform you of any program changes,  provide you with specific field location information and assure adequate staffing.

To register, email the registrar@waylandsoccer.org, indicating the player’s name, age group, and any clinic dates you know your player cannot make.

You need to register only once for all four clinics. While the clinics do build off of each other, and we recommend attending all clinics, do register even if you know your player cannot make one or more sessions.

What to bring: ball and water.

Weather:  Check www.waylandsoccer.org for inclement weather cancellations. No clinics will be held if the fields are closed. October 17 is our makeup date.

Play Soccer Skills Clinic Description

Play Soccer has designed its clinic curriculum to develop players’ individual and team-oriented skills. Each session will begin with warm-ups, consisting of juggling and foot-skills drills.

Foot-skills drills are critical for young players to gain experience controlling the ball, as the drills promote a large number of ball touches with continuous movement. As their confidence with the ball increases, players will learn to stop kicking the ball away as soon as they gain possession.

The main body of the clinic consists of activities and games which focus on a specific skill set. Each week, the theme varies, as Play Soccer coaches develop players in a fun, safe environment.  .
